Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit orwend.com or use the Orwend service, what we use it for and what your rights are. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Personal Data Protection (LOPDGDD) apply.

1. Data controller

Controller: Orwend
Email: info@orwend.com
Website: orwend.com

2. What data we process

  • Account data: first name, surname, company and email address, and your profile photo if you upload one. Your password is never stored as such: only an Argon2id fingerprint, which cannot be turned back into the password.
  • Service data: the devices you connect and their status (battery, temperature, connection, alerts) and the activity log: every access to a device, with the identity, time and IP address of the person who made it, and the wake, lock, unlock and screenshot actions. The account administrator can export it.
  • Screen image: your devices' screens are streamed to your browser so you can see and use them. We do not use them for any other purpose.
  • Orwend Agent app (on the devices you connect to your panel), only while it is connected:
    • The device's model, manufacturer and Android version, the app version and an encrypted fingerprint of the device (it does not reveal which device it is), so it can return to your panel without scanning another QR code after an app update.
    • Device status: battery level and whether it is charging, temperature, carrier, network type (Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G), signal level, mobile data used and whether the screen is on or locked.
    • The screen image, while it is shared with your panel. It is streamed live and is never recorded or stored. Screenshots you request from the panel are saved only in the device's own gallery.
    • With notification access, only how many message notifications are pending in each messaging or buy-and-sell app (for example, “WhatsApp: 3”). Other apps are not counted and not even their name leaves the device. To warn you if an account appears blocked in some apps, the text of their notifications is checked on the device itself. Texts, senders and any other notification content never leave the device: only the message count and, if there is one, the block warning (which app and when).
    • The accessibility service is used to perform on the device the taps, swipes and text you send from your panel, to unlock it with the code you send, and to check, on the device itself, whether a blocked-account warning appears in those apps. It does not send the content of the screen or of other apps: only the block warning. The unlock code is never stored or logged.
    • The app has no permission for the camera, microphone, contacts, SMS or location. To read the QR code it uses the Google Play Services scanner, which only returns the code to it.
Everything is encrypted and goes only to your Orwend panel. You can stop sharing from the app's notification and disconnect the device from the app itself or from the panel.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and server security logs.
  • Website visits: while you have the website open, the page you are viewing, your IP address and your browser type, so we know how many people are viewing it at any moment. They are kept only in the server's memory and deleted a few minutes after you close the page; they are not written to any log and nothing is left on your device. To avoid counting the same visit twice in a day, an anonymous fingerprint (not the IP) is kept until midnight.
  • Communications: whatever you send us by email.
  • Contact form: name, email and message; they reach our inbox so we can reply.
  • Support: your support requests and their attachments (images or PDF).
  • Push notifications: the address your browser provides to receive them.

3. What we use it for and on what legal basis

  • Providing the service (creating and keeping your account, connecting and showing your devices): performance of the contract you accept when you sign up.
  • Protecting the service (access log, prevention of fraud and unauthorised access): legitimate interest in keeping it secure.
  • Answering your questions: your consent when you write to us.
  • Meeting legal obligations (for example tax or accounting ones once there are paid plans).

4. How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active, with these periods:

  • Activity log: 90 days; after that it is deleted automatically.
  • Device faults: 90 days.
  • Backups: 14 days.
  • Remembered devices (“Remember this device”): 7 days.
  • Codes sent by email: deleted the day after they expire.

If you close your account, we delete or anonymise the data. The activity log is kept until its 90 days are up and is then deleted automatically. We only keep blocked the data the law requires us to keep, for the periods it sets, to deal with possible liabilities.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell or hand over your data. Only the providers we need to run the service, such as the server hosting provider, have access to it, under the contracts the GDPR requires. Our servers are in the European Union. Once there are paid plans, the payment provider will process the data needed to charge you.

Push notifications are delivered by your browser's push service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft, depending on the one you use). They are encrypted and that service cannot read their content, but it may be outside the European Economic Area; in that case, delivery takes place with the safeguards the GDPR requires.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing, ask us to restrict it or to give it to you in a format you can take to another service (portability). Email us at info@orwend.com from your account address. If you think we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).

7. Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS) and passwords are stored as an Argon2id fingerprint, which cannot be turned back into the password. To sign in we also ask for a code sent by email. Every access to a device is logged with the identity of the person who made it.

8. Minimum age

The service is designed for professionals and businesses. It is not intended for anyone under 18.

9. Cookies

What we store in your browser is explained in the cookie policy.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version here and, if the change is significant, we will let you know. Last updated: October 14, 2026.
